Majority World Photo Agency

Majority World is a global initiative founded through the collaboration between The Drik Picture Library of Bangladesh and kijijiVision in the UK to champion the cause of indigenous photographers from the “Majority World”: the global South and areas viewed as “in development” that make up the majority of the global population.  The organisation aims to provide a platform for indigenous photographers and agencies from the Majority World to gain fair access to global image markets while making it easier for image buyers to access and use photos from the Majority World.  Photographic representations of populations in the Majority World are overwhelmingly taken by Northern photographers.  It is the belief of Majority World Photo Agency that using photos produced by the South of the South will provide more dimension to global representations.
